Baby Girl

I've made this card for a friend at work who has welcomed a beautiful addition to his family...

It was quite a simple card to make actually, once the shape was made, it was embossed then prettied up with die cuts, job done :)
So, I hand cut the card base from pink card stock using a circle punch and scissors, then embossed the front of the card with my argyle embossing folder.
The scalloped edges were made using the same circle punch followed by a SU scalloped circle punch, then using the scalloped edge punch (also by SU) for the bottom of the belly band and the ends of the arms.
The belly band uses a darker pink card stock which has been embossed with my swiss dots folder.
'baby' was die cut using a word die by Clearly Besotted Stamps, and 'GIRL' cut using Die-namics, By The Letter dies.
I added a small punched heart to finish the card.

I'm entering this card at:
2 Cute Ink - Baby theme
Simon Says Stamp (Weds) - clean & simple

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your day xx

HB2 EMMA

Happy St George's Day!
Today is special for another, more important for me, occasion... my eldest daughter's birthday! :)
Emma is 25 today, wow! how'd that happen?! She was sitting on my lap watching The Little Mermaid just yesterday, right?
Actually, she still loves The Little Mermaid, and never tires of watching it, except these days she doesn't sit on my lap anymore lol

Emma also loves her iphone, especially when crammed full of her fave music, she has quite an eclectic taste... just like me ;)

The stamp set used on Emma's card is 'Text Me' by Clearly Besotted Stamps. I stamped the phone 3 times, twice on card (cutting out the screen on one of them) and once on acetate, so that I could make a shaker card using a few sequins and tiny acetate stars.
I've used a Marianne die (pretty lace border) to frame the dotty paper beneath the image.
The dotty paper is from Doodlebug's Snips & Snails pad, and the birthday gift design paper is from 'Hip Hip Hooray', also by Doodlebug.
'Daughter' is computer generated, and '25' was cut using Die-namics 'By The Number' dies.
I finished the card by adding wink of stella (clear) to the phone, the music notes and the number 25.

I'm entering this card at Fab n Funky for their lace challenge.

Happy Birthday Weezie! xx

Party Hat Birdbrain

Here's my mid-week inspiration post for From The Heart Stamps.
This time i'm using an image that was released last month, Party Hat Birdbrain. It's so funny! :D
I just had to use it for the card that my son will give my daughter for her birthday tomorrow. It's ok she doesn't visit my blog, so it's safe to post today, I can't put it on facebook though until tomorrow lol
Here it is...

I've coloured this fab image using promarkers.
All 3 patterned papers are from Doodlebug's 'Hip Hip Hooray' paper pad.
The embellishment is the 2 largest flowers from Die-namics flower & leaf trio dies, with a shiny gold heart in the centre.
'sister' is a word die from Clearly Besotted Stamps.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Sister Act - anything goes
ABC challenge - H for Happy Birthday
Sugar and Betty's - anything goes (option of layers)
Stamp & Create - anything goes

Loving Thoughts Bouquet

It's Monday, so that means that it's time for a new I {heart}sketches challenge at From The Heart Stamps :)

Here's the sketch, and the twist this time, is to create a quick card...

Join in the challenge, and EVERYONE who plays will receive a $1 discount code for the store, and if you are the challenge winner, you will receive a $5 discount code to the store! :)
Remember though, you must use an image by From The Heart Stamps to be eligible, and please include a pic of the sketch in your blog post too.

I set myself a time limit of 30 minutes to make this card, and I completed it in 18...

This is Loving Thoughts Bouquet, coloured very quickly with promarkers.
I chose my colours to match the papers, which are both from My Mind's Eye, Stella & Rose, Mabel pad. This pad was still on my desk from a recent card make, so I thumbed through to choose 2 more of the designs.
I teamed these with kraft card stock for my card base and mat beneath the image and the sentiment, which was taken from the middle of a cake stamp by Stampin Up ('bring on the cake' stamp set).

Mid-week Birdbrains

It's time for a little mid-week inspiration by From The Heart Stamps.

This image is Gift Stack Birdbrain, and it's perfect for birthdays and christmas cards alike.
You get SEVEN bonus sentiments with this image, I originally intended to use one on this card, but I didn't print it out big enough and it looked lost at the top of the card, so I looked through my ready printed images and sentiments and saw this one which is from Party Hat Birdbrain, and is the perfect size for how I wanted it to look.
The patterned papers are 'Hip Hip Hooray' by Doodlebug, & 'Superheroes' by eltendedero (on Etsy). The doodlebug pad actually has a yellow star design in the pad too, except that I used up my sheets already. This starry pattern looks just as lovely though.
The bottom of the starry paper has an added edge using my scalloped border punch by Stampin Up.

I'm entering this card at:
Crafty Calendar - add a sentiment
Crafty Catz - anything goes
Papertake Weekly - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp Weds - Happy Birthday

Here is my card...

I chose Easter (bunnies) for my card, using Chocolate Bunny Birdbrain, coloured with promarkers.
Now, this Birdbrain couldn't decide on which chocolate to have, so has milk, dark & white chocolate bunnies to chobble on. It's such a great image, don't you think?

You get a bonus of SIX sentiments for free with this Birdbrain, I've used one of them here.

I've used some really old papers from my collection, they are by Stampin Up (Bashful Blue DSP). I don't think Bashful Blue is an available colour anymore though, but you can check on their website.
