A couple of girly makes...

I have made a couple of girly cards. This first one uses a pretty image from DigiStamp Boutique...

This is Florence and present, isn't she a cutie?
The 2 floral papers are from the collection 'Bonnets & Bowties' by Lili of the Valley & Nitwit.
The sentiment is taken from the middle of a cake stamp by Stampin Up ('bring on the cake' stamp set).
The embossing folder used here is Swiss Dots.
I added a flower using Die-namics flower and leaf trio die, and finished off with some flat back crystals.

I'd like to enter this card at:
DigiStamp Boutique - July customer competition
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything goes
Inky Impressions - anything goes
Crafting From The Heart - anything goes
The Pink Elephant - anything goes

On to my other card. This one uses an image from 2 Cute Ink...

This is Sweet Horse,  oh and she definately is a sweetie, don't you agree?
I printed her a few times, coloured and fussy cut, and then decoupaged so that she'd be more 3D.
I've used that Nitwit/LOTV paper pad again for this card too.
After sticking down the floral paper I die-cut a heart from the front of the card using the largest plain heart from Marianne's scalloped heart set. Then die-cut the scalloped heart so that I could frame the aperture.
The horse was then glued to the inside back of the card so that she would poke through the heart.
The flowers were all made using SU's boho blossoms punch.
The name was cut using Die-namics By The Letter dies, and the greeting was handwritten.

I'm entering this card at:
2 Cute Ink challenge - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - anything goes
Sister Act Card Challenge - anything goes
Crafty Catz - anything goes
Milk Coffee challenge - 2 or more die-cuts

UPDATE 04/08/14: This card is a challenge winner at 2 Cute Ink! Thank you! xx

Baby Baby

It's time for a new challenge over at Little Miss Muffet.
This time, as the title of my post suggests, we'd like to see your Baby themed projects please.
Here's my card...

I've used acetate across the front of this card, then embossed it with a cloud folder I received free with a craft magazine. I thought it would be an ideal backdrop for a baby washing line.
I die-cut the washing line using Clothesline Metal Die. You get extra pegs with this die, which I coloured with promarkers to make them look like wooden dolly pegs.
I've used images from Hanging Clothes Baby, and another image from Hanging Clothes Mother, fussy cutting them to hang on the clothesline.
I've used SU's eyelet border punch for the pretty edges. The green paper is by Nitwit.
'BABY BOY' was cut with Die-namics By The Letter dies.

Challenges entered:
I Love Promarkers - ribbons
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything goes
Inky Impressions - anything goes

You'll find the challenge rules, a place to link up your entry and more inspiration by the other Little Misses on the challenge blog.
Please visit our Facebook Group or the LMMS page, where you can see other cards made by the Little Misses uploaded throughout the day.

From The Heart Inspiration

Here I am with an inspiration post for From The Heart Stamps, and another card asked for by my daughter for a friend of hers.
"He likes real ale" was the brief.
Birdbrain Brew to the rescue...

The woodgrain paper is from My Mind's Eye, Stella & Rose, Mabel.
I printed the sentiment off the computer because my daughter wanted Hoppy BEERday rather than Hoppy Birthday which is one of the sentiments that you will get for free when you buy this fab image.
The letters to spell out his name were die-cut years ago. They were originally cut from yellow card using Quickutz 'Marisa' alphabet dies. I didn't have an 'i' nor a 'v', and I don't have the dies so that I could cut more, so I used another 'a'  and a 'w' and trimmed them down, then coloured them with a promarker because I wanted them green.

I'm entering this card at:
Sister Act Card Challenge - anything goes
Crafty Catz - anything goes
Sweet Stampin - take flight
Crafting From The Heart - anything goes
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything goes
Inky Impressions - anything goes

Please tell your crafty friends, and let's see those entries :)

For my card today, i've used Lil Birdie, isn't it a cute image?

I've used the sketch and rotated it, but have my embellishments a little lower than on the sketch so as not to obscure the pretty flowers in the image itself.
The leaves and flowers were made using punches; Woodware ash leaf, SU Boho Blossoms, Nellie Snellen stamen. I finshed each of the flowers with buttons that I salvaged from my son's old school shirts.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Sister Act Card Challenge - anything goes
Crafty Catz - anything goes

Birdbrain Smurf

My daughter asked me to make a card for a friend whose nickname is 'Smurf', and she is a Wolverhampton Wanderers FC fan.
Having used an image from Birdbrain Football Fanatics before for my Son-in-Law's birthday card, I knew straight away which image would look great...

I added the greeting with my computer.
I used my promarkers to colour the image, drawing in the football shirt.
The papers are 'Hello Sunshine' by Sweet Shoppe Designs.
I've used a xcut diamond border punch, and die-cut flowers (Die-namics Flower & Leaf  Trio) and leaves (woodware ash punch, and Marianne Stencil Leaves die) with card candi centres to finish.

Loving the hot weather we're having, although i'm not loving it quite so much when i'm working in the pub kitchen!
Have a great weekend xx

Froggy bag

Good morning, it's time for another Inspiration Thursday over on our LMM Facebook Group.

I made a little gift bag, I found a tutorial on You Tube, wrote down the measurements etc, then forgot to bookmark the video so that I can credit the maker, doh! I have a feeling it was a stampin up demo video though, if I find it again, i'll update this post.
I love this image, meet Broasca The Frog, available in rubber at Little Miss Muffet Stamps.
I've coloured him with pencils.
The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye, Stella & Rose, Mabel. My peach card stock has been embossed with a folder from a pack of 4 folders by Cuttlebug (Heritage Companions set).
The flowers were die-cut using my Die-namics flower & leaf trio die.

Fearless Fairy Tales Blog Hop

As you can see, i've used Snow White. I coloured the image using promarkers.
I stamped my background card using the apple from Stampin Up's "Tart n Tangy" stamp set, colouring directly to the stamp using my SU markers.
I die-cut some swirly stems using the Marianne Die, Anja's Vintage Swirls. The flowers were made using punches, then adding a flat-back pearl to the centre.

Cecilie

Good morning everyone!
It's Inspiration Thursday on the LMM Facebook Group today.

You may not recognise this cutie straight away, this is Polka Dot Pals Cecilie, but she has been to the hairdressers for a 'trim'. Ok, so I messed up while colouring her hair and needed to give her a restyle. oops!

I decided to make a large painters palette for the backdrop, so I drew one onto some kraft card, cut it out, sponged the edges, then added blobs of acrylic paint before leaving to dry.
I wanted a plainish background, so chose this softly striped paper which is from a pad called Bonnets & Bowties and is by Lili of the Valley & Nitwit Collections.

I'm entering this card at:
The Cutie Pie Challenge - cute digi
SSS Monday Challenge - start from scratch (the painters palette)
Paper Makeup - anything goes
MAWTT - girls just wanna have fun

Thanks for looking, You can see more inspirational cards from my fellow Little Misses added to the group page throughout the day,

And remember, our current challenge, which is a sketch challenge, and a really lovely sketch it is too ;)

Would you like a Jelly Baby?

Time for a little From The Heart inspiration, using a Timelord!

Those of you who are of a certain age, like me, or any die-hard Dr Who fans, will instantly understand the title for this post as soon as you see my card today, lol.
Like many of my generation, Tom Baker was 'our' Dr Who, he played the 4th incarnation of the role for most of the 70's. His Doctor is best known for his instantly recognisable voice, his long scarf & hat combo, and his love of Jelly Babies.

So whilst colouring Birdbrain Winter Scarf for my blog hop card last week, I was thinking how much the image reminded me of that famous scarf, and how cool would it be to colour this Birdbrain as Dr Who. . .

So, I drew a hat using my paint program and printed it out along with the Birdbrain. After colouring them both,  I snipped along the brim of the hat so that I could glue the 2 together.
Here's what they look like from the back...

I needed to snip off the top of the Birdbrain's head so that it fit nicely beneath the hat.

Next, I needed a TARDIS, so I decided to make one. I started by using some old Ballet Blue card stock by Stampin Up, and cut out all the pieces I needed.
I coloured all these pieces with black and midnight blue promarkers to get the right colours and shading as I don't have any tardis blue similar coloured card at the moment.
I made the signs, windows, and top light, adding detail with my markers.
Then I just glued it all together. Job done :)

I used a Tim Holtz 'blueprint' embossing folder on another piece of Ballet Blue, and then sponged over the design afterwards using a few inkpads. I mounted this piece onto a piece of white cardstock which has had the scarf pattern replicated around the edge using the same promarkers that I used to colour the image.

I also drew the little paper bag of jelly babies, lol.

I'd like to enter this card at:
Fantastic Tuesday - anything goes
I love Promarkers - things with wings
Creative Card Crew - masculine

Thank you for stopping by today :) xx

For my card i've used just the sketch, but have rotated it...

As you are more than likely aware by now, I love the Birdbrains. What you may not know, is that I love froggies too. This week I decided to carry on with our 'Christmas in July' blog hop theme, and make a card using 'Hoppy Christmas'.
I've used my promarkers to colour the image, then added some polar white flower-soft to the trim of the crimbo hat.
The patterned paper is from Provocraft's Bitty Scrap Pad called 'windswept'.
I printed out 'Christmas!' but decided I wanted to add the word hoppy as a die cut, now, I don't have that exact word, but I do have 'happy' and 'mother' dies (from Clearly Besotted Stamps) so you can guess what I did to get 'hoppy' ;)

I'd like to enter this card at:
