Sketch Saturday #196

Sketch Saturday are being sponsored this week by our friends at

Here's my DT card for the challenge...

The image is "Inca Rubber Stamps - Cat Blocks"
I raised up the centre and 4 corner kitties with foam pads to add a bit of interest to the whole image.

All 3 patterned papers used are all from my Back To Basics II pad by Dovecraft.
I stamped out '21' and coloured it with meadow green promarker before adding a clear glitter gel pen on top for a bit of sparkle.
I finished it with lime green gingham ribbon and punched leaves, flowers and crystals.
For more beautiful cards, please go see what The Saturdays have made to delight you :)

Perfect Love

I was asked to make an anniversary card for a lad at work to give to his parents...

"Love isn't about being perfect,
It's about being perfect for each other"

I printed out the spotty paper ('pattern dots' paper design in brown from Kanban Male Backgrounds CD) and added it to a piece of kraft cardstock.
I cut a frame then decided where I wanted it to be on the card front, then cut away the middle, leaving an aperture surrounded by the frame. I wrapped and tied some cream ribbon, then added foam pads to the back.
Then printed the phrase out onto another piece of paper, the same pattern dots paper but in cream, and attached it to the front of my white card base, positioning it so that it would show through once the aperture piece was in place on top of it. I then stuck down the kraft/brown spotty piece.
I punched some leaves out, then used a mix of paper flowers, crystal gems, and a metal heart duo embellishment to finish.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Flower Power!
Charisma Cardz - Happy Anniversary
Card Crafter's Circle - To DIE for (my punched leaves)
Bunny Zoe's Challenge - Celebrations
CES - Spots & Dots
Secret Crafter challenge - Bingo (gems, flowers, leaves)
Allsorts - Anything Goes
Sentimental Sundays - Let's get sentimental
Crafty Calendar - Love & Marriage

Lenny Love

My Sketch Saturday DT card is beneath this post :)

This is a card for my daughter to give to her boyfriend, using another cute image from Stamp Fairy. I coloured Lenny with promarkers, although my caramel promarker is almost empty (as you can probably tell), I had to dab on the colour as best I could, but actually I think that it helped with the look of teddy fur :)
The background paper is my own design, says the words love, harmony, devotion on it.
The sentiment tags were text printed on the pc, then handcut, layered onto kraft card and cut again, using my cropadile to punch the holes and set the eyelets. Tied to the glitter strip with red twine.
Added a red diecut heart and a crystal gem to finish.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Hooked on Crafts - Hearts (love)
Allsorts - Free & Easy February
Cupcake - entwined
Lexi's Creations - Love
Crafty Bloggers Network - Love is in the air
Cards for men - Valentines Day / Love
Squigglefly - Have a heart, please!
Crafty Creations - Warm & Cuddly Teddy Bears

Crafty Sentiments - Love

Thanks for looking, have a fab weekend! xx

Stamp Fairy sponsors Sketch Saturday

It's 8am Saturday morning here in the UK, so that means it's Sketch Saturday time! :)
This week we are sponsored by Stamp Fairy!

You could win a $10 shopping spree in their fab store if you're our lucky winner :)
I have used this beautiful image given to me by Stamp Fairy (thank you! xx)
You can find it in their Molly Fairy collection

I coloured her with my usual promarkers and Molly has been 3D'd, but it's not so easy to see in this pic
I added clear glitter gel pen to the star of her wand, but that looks grey doesn't it? lol.
I also added glitter pen to the magic sparkles and outlined her fairy wings too.
Papers are both by Stampin Up (bashful blue dsp), as is the sentiment stamp, I used my SU markers to colour the different parts of the stamp. The papers and the stamp set was one of the first things I ever bought from SU as was the scalloped circle punch I used to punch out the sentiment.
The other punch used is also by SU and is an eyelet border punch.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Digital Tuesday challenge - Use your stash
Allsorts - Free & Easy February
Card Crafters Circle - to DIE for
Crafty Catz - Favourite things
(Stampin Up products & promarkers)

Hope you'll join in our challenge this week :)

Final SRU challenge.

Yes that's right, as my title says, sadly, Stamps R Us challenge blog is closing, so this will be our final challenge :(
We'll close our InLinkz entries on 27th February, so you will have 2 weeks to enter to be in with a chance of winning a prize from our sponsor Digital Delights by Louby Loo and with a challenge theme of 'Anything Goes' there's not a single reason why you shouldn't join in with us for one last time eh?

The design team were kindly given images to use on our cards, I chose Cupcake Timmy, because he is SO ADORABLE! Thank you DDLL xx

I coloured Timmy with promarkers, and 3D'd the cupcake and front paws.
I used 'orange' and 'gold' promarkers blended together to get Timmy's main colour shown here.
The papers are by Stampin Up, i've had these papers for a few years now.
The floral background paper is from their 'sweet always' DSP collection, and the striped paper is 'pumpkin pie DSP'.
The sentiment is from a freebie set in a craft mag and is made by Ladybug Crafts.

There's more delightful cards made by my fellow SRU teamies to be seen on the challenge blog, but for more details of how they made their cards, please go visit their fabby personal blogs.

Love is...

Hello friends!
It's the weekend, and time for another Sketch Saturday challenge!
We're sponsored by our friends at Simon Says Stamp this week :)

You could enjoy a whopping $25 shopping spree at their amazing online store if you are our lucky winner this week.

This is my card, I flipped the sketch...

The image of course is 'Wedding Couple' by Lili of the Valley, coloured with my promarkers.
The gorgeous papers were a prize I won just before Christmas on the Sketchy Colors challenge blog. My prize was some yummy 12x12 papers from the Norwegian company 3ndypapir, this collection of double-sided papers is called White Christmas 2011, the top piece is called 'Juleglede', the bottom piece is called 'Julekveld'. The papers in the collection do have a christmas theme, but these 2 weren't screaming out christmassy to me, and I thought they'd look fab on a wedding card.
The sentiment is from Create with TLC, although I split the sentence beneath the 'Love is' bit from one long sentence so that I could fit it onto a circle.
The flowers and leaves were made using punches and adding a crystal to the centre of each flower.

For more beautiful inspiration please go visit the Saturday Girls and our talented GD for February Liesbeth, there's a lovely mix of styles and themes using this weeks sketch,  yes it is a little more challenging than most sketches I make, but I knew these girls would make some stunning examples for you, go see for yourself, they are sure to inspire you to join in our challenge this week.
