Sweet Stampin #19 - Sketch

Back again with my card for this weeks challenge over at Sweek Stampin :)
This weeks challenge is a sketch for you to use.
Here's my card...

The cardstock was stamped using a flower stamp from SU's 'spring solitude' stamp set,
the image is from the 'a flower for all seasons' stamp set and is coloured with matching SU markers with an added touch of glitter to the tulips.
I used my SU eyelet border punch to make the scalloped border, the paper is from my stash and has bits of mica in it so that it sparkles when the light catches it, it's really beautiful paper, I bought it years agao and was lucky to find a piece left that I could use on this card.
The flowers were punched using X-cut retro flower punches.

I used this particular colour so that I could send this card to my friend Terry for her birthday last week, Purple is her favourite colour.

Thanks for looking, hope you all have a fab weekend xx

Sketch Saturday #96

This week we are sponsored by the ever generous Sandy & Ian at The Craft Barn :)
and you could win yourself 3 Cosmic Shimmer Misters of your choice!

Here is my card...

I got out an old Magnolia stamp for this card, I'm going to start using some of my older stamps again as well as my newer ones, and I loved this little beauty when I bought it and still do!
I coloured her with SU markers, added glitter to the wings, and used the same patterned paper as the background for her dress (paper pieced)
The papers are from 'My Minds Eye - Pretty Please Spring' collection.

I have sent this card to a friend for her birthday Tomorrow :)

EDITED TO ADD: I typed this post before I knew that my friend had received the card, she has now and has opened it early, naughty Margreet! LOL! Happy Birthday for tomorrow my friend xx

Thanks for stopping by everyone xx

Sweet Stampin #18 - Spring!

Spring is the theme this week over at Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog, which you can interpret any way you wish, be it easter, daffodils or pastel colours,

I chose the latter...

I have used gorgeous SU papers called 'Tea Party'
The WoJ image is one of my favourites, it's called 'Henry celebrating mouse' and has been coloured with SU markers.
The large flower was made by using my SU 5 petal flower punch and secured in the middle with a spotty brad.

Thanks for looking, hope you all have a fantastic weekend! :)

Sweet Stampin #17 - colour combo

Time for a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin, and this week we have a colour combo chart for you...

You don't have to use all 4 colours if you don't want to, but we would definately like to see 3 of them in your challenge entry please.
I'm greedy though and like to use all 4 if I can lol
I've made this card for my Daughter (who doesn't like cardmaking herself but likes the finished products if they are made for her!) to give to my Mom tomorrow - it's ok, my Mom won't see this post before she receives the card...

I really do like this colour combo together :)

I started with a barely banana card base then matted onto this a piece of blush blossom cardstock after distressing the edges first with the blade of my scissors.
I made my own background by stamping with sage shadow, barely banana & certainly celery ink onto whisper white cardstock, the SU stamp set I used is 'One of a Kind'
The image was given to me by Margreet (thank you hunni) and was coloured with SU inks to match.
I wanted to put a solid background behind the cute hanglar girl so I punched some barely banana cardstock with my SU eyelet border punch, and then added torn strips of blush blossom beneath the word Nan to help make the letters pop out a little more.
Those 'Nan' letters were hand drawn & coloured with the same ink colours too.
The sentiment is from the 'Yummy' stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today, and to all the Moms who will be celebrating Mothers Day tomorrow I hope that you all have a wonderful day xx

bunny with bunting!

It's been a while since I got out my Bootiful Stampz.
So I decided to use one of them for this weeks DT card for Sketch Saturday...

The background paper is by My Minds Eye and is from their spring papers collection.
The bunny is called Peeking Bunny, and I thought he would look great holding something, so as the sketch called for 5 embellishments beneath the image, I thought Bunny would look good holding some bunting (I can add letters to the bunting to spell out a name at a later date).

The sentiment is by Stamps Away, and the flowers are stamped and punched out with a stamp from SU's 'one of a kind' set and my SU boho blossoms punch.
I'm pleased with how this card turned out :)

TFL, i'll be back in an hour with my sweet stampin DT work.

Mothers Day 2010

Here's the card I have made this year for my Mom...

I have used close to cocoa & kraft cardstock by stampin up, the DSP is called 'Bella Bleu'
The flower was made using this tutorial that I found while browsing the web,
however, my flower looks different because I forgot to do the final fold before I glued the petal together, saying that I do still like the end result :)
My printer is broken at the mo, hence why the greeting is a bit dodgy lol.
The letters to spell out Mom were hand drawn onto the same DSP, backed onto cardstock for extra strength then attached with foam pads.
Punched flowers & leaves and twirly tendrils complete the card.

All I have to do now is write in a verse, then it's ready to give to my Mom :)
